Unique Harmony of Turkish and Mexican Music Enchants Music Lovers

Yunus Emre Institute not only promotes Turkish music through its cultural activities worldwide but also hosts special events that blend Turkish music with the music of various other countries.

In a concert organized by the Yunus Emre Institute in Mexico, Turkish and Mexican music were harmoniously brought together.

The concert was attended by 300 guests, including Turkish Ambassador to Mexico İlhan Kemal Tuğ, Libyan Ambassador to Mexico Sana Elmansouri, Commercial Counsellor Zahide Karaca Çoban, TİKA Mexico Program Coordinator Fatih Abdi Çetin, Mexico YEI Coordinator Salih Gültekin, as well as Mexican music enthusiasts and other distinguished guests.

At the Silvestre Revueltas Auditorium of the National Conservatory of Mexico, Turkish flutist Lelya Bayramoğulları, accompanied by Mexican pianist Alfredo Isaac Aguilar, performed a selection of works by both Turkish and Mexican composers.

In the program, Mexican pianist Alfredo Aguilar also performed a solo piece by a renowned Turkish composer and presented excerpts from the lives of Turkish composers.

The program featured a diverse selection of music, including the first Turkish waltz “Yine Bir Gülnihal,” Âşık Veysel’s “Güzelliğin On Par’etmez,” Fazıl Say’s “Kumru,” Göksel Baktagir’s “Nihavend Longa,” and concluded with the beloved Mexican song “Cielito Lindo.” The concert garnered enthusiastic support from the Mexican audience, who joined in singing the popular song “Cielito Lindo.”

At the end of the program, Salih Gültekin, Coordinator of the Yunus Emre Institute in Mexico, presented specially designed boxes of Turkish delight to three attendees.

At the end of the concert, the Mexican audience gathered for a souvenir photo with Lelya Bayramoğulları.

The program was sponsored by Turkish Airlines and Mega Travel, a Turkish company with operations in Latin America.
